Rachel O'Brien
MA, IBCLC, PMH-C
Co-founder Rachel began her lactation career by sitting for the IBCLC exam in 2015 while earning her MA degree in Human Lactation. She soon opened her private practice providing home visits all around the MetroWest area, and settled into her Wayland office in 2021. Her small office has moved to the suite next door and blossomed into We Speak Baby Collective, where Rachel still sees private clients for lactation and bottle feeding support 6 days per week.
Rachel loves learning anything about babies, lactation, and feeding- which led to her specialization in bottle refusal. She developed a training course, Guiding Bottle Breakthroughs, for other lactation professionals and has presented at national lactation conferences on bottle feeding skills.
When not at her office (or shopping for things for her office) Rachel spends time with her three children and her husband, mostly staring at the wall trying to remember what she's supposed to be doing. Rachel is a cat person who loves cilantro and drag queens and absolutely despises broccoli and monkeys.
LPN, IBCLC & Infant Sleep Educator
Shelly is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and Infant Sleep Counselor. Based in Worcester County, MA, she's been supporting new families in Massachusetts and Rhode Island since 2007. In 2019 she opened her office in Worcester, and in 2022 Shelly began seeing MetroWest clients in the Maynard office.
Shelly now sees clients in her Wayland office inside We Speak Baby Collective three days per week. She specializes in helping babies with complex feeding challenges, along with physical challenges like torticollis, laryngomalacia and oral ties.
When she's not working, you'll probably find Shelly hiking in some exotic locale or running obstacle course races- with or without her seven children and husband. You may also find her lifting heavy things for fun, tending to her bee hive, or avoiding birds at all costs.

Colleen Andrade
CPD, CLE
I am a CPD (certified postpartum doula) and CLE (certified lactation educator) with years of experience supporting families during their postpartum journey. Additionally, I am a mom to two busy boys, now 9 and 13 years old. I had vastly different lactation and postpartum experiences with them both, so know very well how each and every family and baby are different, requiring their own unique care and attention. My experiences, and natural want to support and care for others, drove my passion to help create better outcomes for more families. Teaching classes does just that as I only have so much time to provide postpartum doula support.
These courses lay the foundation for the postpartum experience you want and desire for your family. Preparation and knowledge lead to better outcomes. Knowing when and who to reach out to for professional support provides you with reassurance. Are you and/or your partner heading back to work and want to know how to best prepare? Want to know the best way to introduce your new baby to siblings/pets? Interested in learning different activities to do with your newborn? There is so much that encompasses the postpartum period and I cannot wait to help you achieve the experience you are striving for. We will spend some time addressing whatever questions you have at the time. When joining my class you will learn the many benefits my education and experience can bring to you during such a transitional time.
IBCLC & infant care educator
I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who has been providing breastfeeding support in the hospital setting since 2016. In 2022, I opened my private practice so that I may continue supporting families beyond immediate postpartum.
I have had the privilege of helping families breastfeed in a variety of settings including, NICU, postpartum, office, home and a community support group.
I strive to understand and respect each family's unique needs and dynamics to support them in their feeding goals. I’ve come to learn that this doesn’t always look like the peaceful pictures you see on the internet and often times comes with a lot of hard work and determination. My goal is to listen and support each family’s needs, and to be by your side if the feeding goals evolve from what you first envisioned.
When I’m not working with families, I’m typically getting covered in dirt or mud - either in my garden or in my ceramics studio.
Birth doula & perinatal consultant
I have 2 children, Annabelle and AJ, though I have delivered 3 full-term babies (2 in hospital, 1 at home.) The devastating loss of my first child and the subsequent beautiful births of my next two children have given me a unique perspective on birthing people's physical and emotional needs during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I'm happy to bring what I've learned from my own experience, continued education and doula experience to anyone who can benefit from it as they navigate the journey into parenthood!
